Dune Awakening Expands

Dune Awakening is a survival MMO set in the world of Arrakis, where players must navigate the dangers of the desert planet. The game's developer, Funcom, has announced a new free DLC called Blood and Ice, which adds a new map and survival mechanics to the game. The Blood and Ice DLC will be released in December and will introduce a new survival map called the Polar Sink, which is set in the frozen north of Arrakis. This new map will require players to adapt to a completely different climate, where they will have to seek out heat rather than avoid it.

New Survival Mechanics

The Polar Sink map will feature two different biomes, each with its own unique challenges and opportunities. Players will have to develop new technologies to help them survive in this harsh environment, such as crafting warm clothing and building shelters to protect themselves from the cold. The game's central survival concept will be flipped on its head, as players will have to actively seek out heat rather than avoiding it. This will require players to think strategically and make the most of the resources available to them. The Blood and Ice DLC will also introduce new gameplay mechanics, such as the ability to build and manage your own base, and to recruit and command your own troops.
